NARA ONLINE EDUCATION
NARA and the University of Southern Maine/Muskie School of Public Service have produced four in-depth courses in the online education program. The content is developed by real regulators and is based on decades of tested and trusted regulatory policies and procedures. The course design is highly interactive, allowing you to apply your learning to case studies and scenarios.
Click here for a description of each course in the NARA On-Line Curriculum:
- Introduction to Regulatory Enforcement
- Introduction to the Licensing Process, Investigation, and Evidence
- Balanced Use of Authority, Complaint Investigation, and Suppressing Illegal Operations
- History, Concepts, Ethics, and Rule-Making in Human Care Regulation
Certificates of completion are awarded following passing a short online exam at the end of each course.
If you successfully complete all four courses, you are eligible to apply for the NARA Credential. Two years experience as a human care regulator and a criminal background check are required prior to application for a NARA Credential. Candidates for the credential must sign a commitment to NARA's Code of Ethics, obtain a supervisor's recommendation, and complete a professional essay for review. The NARA credential is the only national certification for human care licensors.
